Hello Friends!
Thanks for stopping by...today I wanted to do simple Thank You Notes that I keep on hand usually for last minute Kindness returned...but I am very low so I wanted to stock up on them...so I will show you a few that I did and they are really nice for Church Thank Yous or for friends quickly but simple that you don't always need an envelope for them so that is what makes them great for last minute...you can write it and stick it in your purse or church bag you take, I put them in a little plastic pouch I have and of course its purple...lol..and that way you don't forget...I eventually will get one of those envelope boards to make envelope for them for the size I need but for now this works. :)
I love those little scrap packs you can find and just fold over whatever size your heart desires and stamp and decorate a little or use a white cardstock and I usually measure them 2x3 or 3x3 or even A2s and decorate with little scraps or odds and ends I have that I hate to throw away...scrapping and card making is not a cheap hobby...lol...then you are done except to write what you need in it.
I love them simple but it says a lot to the person you are thanking...thoughts do count and does a heart good. :) Here are two of my Thank You stamps I own...but I have more of different variety print and I think it adds dimension to your cards or your feelings represented. :)
I usually keep them handy because I am always getting something or they do something nice for me and I like to show them my appreciation. Its a small kindness that goes a long ways...don't you think so too?
Have a wonderful Saturday and thanks for becoming my blog friend!
In His Love,
Kari

Turning into a Cookie Monster
Hello Friends!
Thanks for stopping by...today is a yummy day! lol...I have such a passion for baking that it has definitely became one of my passions...I love to bake especially when I am upset and then the calories help me suck it up...lol...but in all seriousness I really have some standby recipes that are quick and a few family favorites...don't we all? I will share some of these from time to time and well the other day I had such a craving for some cookies...Oatmeal and Peanut Butter...I couldn't choose and well my boy loves PBs and couldn't mix it up...so I made both...what is a girl to do? LOL...so on a baking trip I went...but today I will share my Oatmeal recipe I stand by.
I used the following Recipe from Better Homes and Gardens (New Book 1996) that I have had forever but I sometimes make my own spin on it...but sometimes I leave it as is...lol...why mess up a good thing?
Here is a pic of my Oatmeal Cookies...yummy and they are gone already...I gave some to a friend and of course my boy and then me! I love the spices I put in it and my boy is not a fan of raisins like I am so I left them out of these. You can add them if you want or even chocolate chips or even better PB or Butterscotch...but they are still very good. :)
Here is the recipe:
Oatmeal Cookies (Set Oven at 375)
1/4 c. Margarine or butter (I love Blue Bonnet or Imperial)
1 c. packed brown sugar
1/2 c. granulated sugar
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. baking soda
(I have been known to subbed one of these spices with nutmeg at times)
1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp. ground cloves
2 eggs
1 tsp. Vanilla ( I use Pure Vanilla and not imitation)
1 3/4 c. all-purpose flour
2 c. rolled oats ( notice ROLLED not reg oats)
In a large mixing bowl beat the marg/butter. Add the next 6 ingredients and mixed well. Beat in the eggs and vanilla till mixed. Beat in the flour as much as you can which I do all of it. Stir in the rolled oats till all is combined and this is where I use my wooden spoon to finish the dough.
Drop dough by spoonful or however you want to...sometimes I use an ice cream dipper or melon baller, depends on what size you want. But most of the time I use my hands ...something great about doing that...therapy...yep yep :D
Bake for 10 minutes and then voila! It sure makes the apartment smell great...love that! :D By the way this makes several dozens and great for potlucks and such.
So I hope you are inspired today to make some cookies and come back again to check out what I am doing on the blog...I am not giving you a sneak peak for tomorrow ...so you will have to come back and find out...lol...see ya later! :D
Be bless and have a wonderful day! :D

Smashing
Hello Friends!
Welcome to my blog and hope you are going to get excited about today's post...Smashing...Oh yeah!! I just recently started this and had a book from my friend Donna and then I didn't like how I did it last year when I got started so I put it aside and lately it has been getting to me that I have not recorded some things in my life that is important to me. To remember.
So now I decided to get back to it and I kept things simple far as the cover of my Smash Book but will add more leaves once I find them...lol...but I love simplicity...and memories :D
So check out what I have done so far...please share with me what you do with Your Smash Book...I would love to hear it. Post it in comments...bless you! I love the idea of a diary art book...lol...my way...my thoughts and plans...its going to be interesting what I put in it and I will post as I get them in the book.
I have a few entries already for January...so here goes...
Here is the cover of my Smash book...I love the flowers and these were actually from a broken flower bunch that I cut and then glued it down (wanted to hide the orange but ran out of leaves but I know I have more just need to find them :p) but I also love purple and butterflies and angels...all stickers on the rest except for the angel wings which is a fabric; I found in the clearance rack at the fabric dept (but what store I can't remember) and I love that this has my favorite things on it! :D
Now the pages I did something simple to give a hint of what I want in my book. Simple but informative...lol...
Now unto the next page is my entrance for the month of January...I put a Calendar envelope on it to keep stubs and the like when it is something I want to keep and share what I do and what I enjoy...also keep a track of amazing moments as well as other things that mean something to me...
The next two pages are representing something I want to keep in my mind...Page 1 is my Goal page and my One Word as well as my Mission Statement but eventually I will find the verse that will be my mission verse...still working on that one...but I have a great start in what I want to do and accomplish. Then the second page shares some pics of my friends that I had been with at the New Year's Eve bash...it was a blast and I had a great time and build some wonderful memories as well as worshiping Papa God in the New Year...we had several bands and food, prayer and dance and singing...and praise! :D
I hope you enjoy my Smashing...I am going to love doing this and this way it records memories and thoughts and other things that has real meaning to me and my life. We all need that...when we have those days we are down or forget what our reason for living these kinds of things keeps us focused and happy and positive and great things to look back on to remind us the important things...right? This is also a great legacy to leave your children if you have them or anyone else like a husband and etc.
Now its your time to Smash...let me know what you do! :D
I will be creating a FB page that involves my Blog and that way you can share some things on there as well...will let you know when it is created and ready for you to "like" it.
Here is a sneak peek what is on my blog tomorrow...baking...cookies.
Now you all be blessed and have a wonderful day!

Grand Opening
Hello! Welcome to my New Blog!
I am so excited about my new updated blog...it has been almost 2 years since I posted and I really miss it but I didn't want to be boring or not motivated to post and the old one was deleted since I was inactive...so I prayed on it and really like the idea of what is my passion and what I love to do and create and thought yep that is what I want to do and that is what I want to share with you and my love of purple. I had trouble with coming up with a new name so I ask some of my friends on Facebook and got a bunch of great name ideas...I love them all but this The Purple Patch was the winner but I want to also reflect my Christian background...and plus the Purple Patch already existed so I decided to put my own spin on it and make it geared to who I am a bit as well as what my blog will be about.
So this is what my new blog "Kari's Purple Patch with Scraps from Purple Heaven" will be about and I will have some regular things like the card making, scrapbooking, and general crafts as well as Smashing that I love but also on other days to share my love of crocheting, cooking, and baking in which I will share some of my fave recipes for whatever reason I need to make it for to give you ideas for your own thing...as well as when I have to entertain and parties sometimes and what I do for my own set up and share the love of giving and hospitality and fun! I will also be sharing some decorating that I will be allowed to do in my apartment and that will be a another story for another day. :D So come back often you never know what I am going to do and make it more exciting...Are you excited yet?
Now along with all the creative things I will put one day mostly on Sundays so I can have a break but to share with you all my personal Christian Journey or a bit of what I want to share with you that is on my heart. But there may be days I will say something if Papa God tells me to. I love my Lord and Savior He is my Redeemer and He lives...I hope to encourage you...I really care about what goes on in people's lives...this is a tough world we live in. Its not easy these days but with Jesus there is always hope.
Love to have you as a follower and email subscribers...but no pressure...I really want you to enjoy my blog and some things I will be sharing with you all. So come back to share the adventures with me! :D
Here is a sneak peak of my blog tomorrow...sharing my Smash :D So please come back and check it out!
In His Love,
Kari
